Our yearly cooking night is always one of my favourites because it is great to watch girls learning new, practical things and then getting to enjoy the what they have created. We split the girls into 3 groups and had a leader with each one.
1. Veggies and dip
The girls cut all the veggies themselves and arranged them to make “veggy trees” on a couple platters. They also got to use a blender to make white bean dip from scratch.
2. Mini Pizzas
We used English muffins to make mini pizzas. Before we began, we found out what girls wanted on their pizzas and made them with a selection of items from tomato sauce, shredded cheese, mushrooms, pepperoni and peppers. There was shredded cheese all over the place!
4. Fruit skewers
They fancied up the fruit skewer concept by adding mini marshmallows and girls cut all the fruit themselves. If we ever did this again, I think we would buy larger marshmallows because they were hard to get on the sticks.
Once everything was done, we set the table and enjoyed a great meal!
